Tulsa King has been renewed for Season 5, with production already underway in New York and Dwight Manfredi’s story returning to the Mafia roots that sent him west in the first place. Paramount+ announced the renewal on Monday, October 5, 2026—eleven days before Season 4 is scheduled to premiere.
The renewal comes with a substantial production change, four new series regulars and a promotion for Scarlet Rose Stallone. It does not yet include a Season 5 premiere date, episode count or complete returning-cast list.
What to know
- The renewal: Paramount+ has officially ordered Tulsa King Season 5 before the fourth season begins.
- The move: Production has shifted from Atlanta to New York, matching a storyline that returns Dwight to his old Mafia territory.
- The cast: Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli join as regulars, while Scarlet Rose Stallone has been promoted.
Season 5 is already filming in New York
The renewal is more than an early vote of confidence. Production on Season 5 has begun, according to TheWrap, and the series is moving its production base from Atlanta to New York.
Paramount Television Studios executive Drew Brown said the company was “thrilled” to shoot the new season in New York, where Dwight’s story will continue to evolve. The shift is designed to coincide with the plot rather than simply substitute one filming location for another.
That distinction gives the move real story weight. Tulsa King began with Dwight “The General” Manfredi leaving prison after 25 years and discovering that loyalty had earned him exile. His New York Mafia family sent him to Oklahoma, expecting him to disappear quietly. Instead, he assembled a new crew and built power outside the organization that discarded him.
Season 5 now appears ready to bend that premise back toward its starting point. Dwight will not be the same isolated capo who first arrived in Tulsa. He returns east with his own alliances, enemies and criminal identity—potentially forcing the New York underworld to confront the empire its exile helped create.
The New York return could reset the show’s central conflict
A New York storyline gives the series access to the tension underneath its broad humor and fish-out-of-water premise. Dwight’s old-school habits have always made him both charismatic and dangerous. Our examination of Dwight Manfredi’s old-school mob style explains how his suits, manners and code preserve the identity he carried through prison.
In Oklahoma, that identity made Dwight unusual. Back in New York, it becomes a challenge to the people who replaced him. He can no longer define himself only as the abandoned soldier who made good somewhere else. He may have to decide whether he wants recognition from the old family, revenge against it or independence from it.
The announcement does not confirm that Tulsa will disappear from the series or that every member of Dwight’s Oklahoma crew will relocate. Reports describe a New York-based production and a story that takes Dwight back to his roots. Until Paramount+ releases a synopsis, claims that the show is permanently abandoning Tulsa would go beyond what has been announced.
That uncertainty may be productive. The show can use physical distance to test which relationships belong to Dwight personally and which depend on the Oklahoma empire he created. A title like Tulsa King can describe the man Tulsa made even when he is standing on a New York street.
Four actors join the regular cast
Season 5 will add Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli as series regulars. Their character names and story functions were not included in the initial announcement, so any claims about their alliances would be speculation.
The casting nevertheless points toward a denser underworld environment. Fleshler is familiar to crime-drama audiences from Billions and Boardwalk Empire. Shreli appeared in Power Book IV: Force, while Skordi’s credits include Law & Order: Organized Crime. Palladino, known for ER, also appears in the Stallone origin film I Play Rocky.
Scarlet Rose Stallone, who plays Spencer, has been promoted from recurring performer to series regular. The promotion signals that the show intends to retain at least one important thread from Dwight’s adopted world as the larger story moves east.
Other current performers include Garrett Hedlund, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Frank Grillo, Neal McDonough and Dana Delany. The renewal announcement did not provide a definitive Season 5 status for each of them. That is especially important because a production relocation does not automatically reveal which characters survive Season 4 or follow Dwight to New York.
Season 4 still arrives first on October 16
Viewers will not have to wait for Season 5 to see the story begin turning back toward Dwight’s origins. Tulsa King Season 4 premieres Friday, October 16, 2026, on Paramount+, with Terence Winter serving as head writer and executive producer.
According to the streamer’s official description, the fourth season places Dwight between corrupt politicians, dangerous new enemies and a major personal loss as he tries to legitimize his empire. The conflict pulls him toward the street instincts he left behind in New York. Our guide to the Season 4 premiere date and teaser covers the confirmed setup without crossing into Season 5 speculation.
The early renewal changes how audiences can read the coming season. It confirms that the October episodes are not being presented as the end of Dwight’s story, but it does not guarantee safety for his crew or businesses. A fifth season can continue the series after a major defeat, relocation or fracture just as easily as after a victory.
Paramount+ has made similarly aggressive investments in mob-centered programming, including the renewal covered in our report on MobLand Season 3. Renewing Tulsa King before Season 4 premieres keeps one of the streamer’s established crime franchises moving while its universe and cast continue to expand.
What happens next
The next confirmed event is the Season 4 premiere on October 16. Paramount+ has not announced the Season 5 release date, the number of episodes or whether New York becomes the permanent fictional center of the series.
Production news should answer some of those questions before the season does. Additional casting, location photographs and an official synopsis may reveal whether Dwight is confronting his former family, rebuilding in a new borough or dividing his attention between New York and Tulsa.
For MobstersDaily readers, the renewal matters because it brings the series’ central Mafia idea full circle. Dwight was banished because New York considered him outdated and expendable. Four seasons later, the organization’s discarded soldier is returning with proof that he could build power without it.
Tulsa King Season 5 is therefore not merely more episodes. The move creates a chance to test Dwight against the world that formed him—and to discover whether the Tulsa king can return home without becoming someone else’s soldier again.
