Watch: Gloria Trillo: The Most Dangerous Woman Tony Ever Met

Gloria Trillo is the affair that nearly burns Tony's life down: a Melfi patient, a Mercedes saleswoman, and the one woman who matches his darkness volt for volt. Watch the video above, then read her story. Full explainer: what happened to Gloria Trillo.

Annabella Sciorra's Gloria, in a handful of episodes, becomes the show's most electric presence: glamorous, volatile, and fluent in the same emotional blackmail Tony grew up with, which is exactly the attraction and exactly the danger. Tony sees his mother in her only when it's too late to leave cleanly. Her death, reported to Tony in Melfi's office a season later, lands as one of the series' heaviest blows, and his response, attacking the messenger's chair and then sitting with it, is Gandolfini at his absolute peak.

Quick answer: Gloria was Tony's most intense affair, a mirror of Livia's chaos, and her suicide a year later is one of the show's defining gut-punches.
