Jackie Aprile Jr.: A Cautionary Tale

Watch: Jackie Aprile Jr.: A Cautionary Tale

Mobsters Daily

Jackie Aprile Jr. had the name, the connections and the warning example of his own father's death, and still sprinted toward the life as fast as he could. Watch the video above, then read the cautionary tale.

Jason Cerbone plays Jackie Jr. as the mob's next generation in miniature: a med-school dropout coasting on his late father's reputation, dating Meadow as a shield, and running small scores with men who see him as a name to hide behind. His end is the show's coldest lesson about nepotism: the robbery of Ralph's card game, meant to echo his father's legend, leaves a man dead and Jackie marked, and Vito shoots him in the snow outside a housing project while the family tells Meadow a story. Tony's guilt over failing his dead friend's son lasts about one scene.

Quick answer: Jackie Jr. chased his father's legend without his father's protection, botched a robbery to prove himself, and was killed for it.
